The site

Bikes & Bays is an independent adventure-motorcycle publication: buying guides for tyres, helmets, intercoms, luggage, protective gear and moto-camping kit, plus touring routes and ferry guides for Europe and beyond. It has 135 published articles — 66 gear guides, 32 routes, 30 how-to guides and 7 coastal “bays” pieces.

Every guide is researched against manufacturer spec sheets and certifications, independent tests and long-term owner reports, and the article says which is which. We don’t claim hands-on testing we haven’t done. More on that on the about page.

Audience (September 2026)

  • ~5,000 visitors and ~6,500 page views a month (Vercel Analytics, last 30 days).
  • Almost all organic search: Google first, then DuckDuckGo and Bing. No paid traffic, no pop-ups, no display ads.
  • ~1,600 clicks from ~78,000 Google impressions in the last 28 days (Search Console), up about 60% on the previous two months.
  • Where readers are: United States ~20% of search clicks, UK and the rest of Europe ~30% (UK, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Sweden, Portugal), Australia and Canada ~11%.
  • Most-read guides: adventure motorcycle tyres, adventure bikes for shorter riders, ADV helmets, mid-size adventure motorcycles, motorcycle intercoms.

Readers arrive while choosing something specific — a tyre for a given rim size, a helmet for a long tour, a ferry crossing — so they are close to a purchase or a booking.

How we work with partners

  • Affiliate partnerships through Amazon Associates, Awin, CJ and Impact, or a retailer’s own programme.
  • No paid placements or sponsored rankings. Picks are chosen first and linked afterwards; a commission never moves a product up a list.
  • Every affiliate link is disclosed above the first link on the page, per the FTC guidance, and in the affiliate disclosure.
  • Useful to us: accurate spec sheets, size charts, certification documents, and a product feed or deep links for the items our readers already ask about.
  • For UK and European readers we prefer retailers who ship to them directly, without customs charges at the door.

Who runs it

Bikes & Bays is published by Novexa Studio and run by Bora Alan, based in Turkey. The same studio publishes a dog-gear site and a home-espresso site; each is a separate publication.
